Key Responsibilities

  • Support Preparation & Draft statutory financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure accuracy of financial data, including balance sheet, P&L, disclosures, and supplementary reporting packs.

  • Coordinate annual statutory audits, providing required documentation and responding to auditor queries. • Review accounting entries and ensure proper classification, reconciliations, and compliance with internal controls.

  • Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and other Finance teams to collect and validate statutory reporting inputs.

  • Support preparation of director reports, management confirmations, and regulatory filings.

  • Monitor and consult changes in local accounting and reporting rules and support assessing their impact.

  • Drive continuous improvements in closing, reporting, documentation quality, and process automation.

  • Work with external service providers where required (auditors, advisors, outsourced accounting firms).

  • Maintain strong governance and documentation standards for all statutory files.

Key Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Professional certification would be an advantage (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, local accounting qualification).

Experience:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in statutory accounting, external reporting.

  • Strong understanding of local GAAP; combined with experience with IFRS • Proven experience preparing statutory financial statements and managing audits.

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, statutory reporting, and audit requirements.

  • Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP).

  • Ability to interpret accounting standards and prepare technical accounting analyses.

  • Solid understanding of internal controls and documentation standards.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.

  • High attention to detail and quality mindset.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
